Hello and welcome to my website. I understand you are interested in a career in modeling or acting.
Perhaps you have some questions…

Q. How to get started?
Models, actors and other entertainers get started by marketing themselves with photographs. A nice commercial headshot with a beautiful smile and a more serious style headshot with a slightly dramatic look will get you started with a legitimate talent agency. If you are interested in acting, ask your agent for a referral to a qualified acting coach and invest a few hours and some money to help you with auditions.
If the coach is good, this is money well spent, and your agent will love your initiative. Other than photographs and the (optional) acting coach, you shouldn't have to spend money. No legitimate casting or talent agent will ever ask for money for promo fees, publicity fees or listing fees! There is no gray area here. Legitimate agents earn a commission only when they find you work.

So remember, headshots to get the agent; then, if necessary, a good coach to help you with acting auditions. If you are interested in a modeling workshop, give me a call (503.290.8459). You will learn a lot!

Q. Do I really need a lot of photos? Why so many changes/looks?
Photos are essential to promote yourself to agents. You need at least six current professional quality photographs, because agents want to see as much diversity in your 'look' as you can give them. They want to see 'range' so they know which auditions are best for you. Here are some example of looks that show range: young parent; sophisticate; college student; villain; homemaker; executive; glamour girl; tomboy; motorcycle man/woman; sports enthusiast.

Q. Can I bring a friend to the photo session?
If you are under 18, you must bring a parent. If you are over 18, you are welcome to bring one friend to
your session.

Q. What happens after the shoot?
Once your session is complete, you choose the photos you want to use. One of the headshots should be with a nice smile, suitable for commercial usage; one photo should show a different look. (serious, dramatic, playful, etc.) You'll go home with your CD, ready to book your appointment with an agent and get started on your dream.

Q. Should I have a personal website?
YES! Personal websites are the modern way to promote yourself to photographers. You can have your own website and you can list yourself on models directories, such as:

Q. How can I get my own website?
There are many website designers, but I have worked with Tyler Stenson and Ryan Massad and feel comfortable recommending them. Here are their websites:

Q. How should I show my pictures to agents?
You should display your photos in a lightweight leather or leather-looking portfolio. Your portfolio should be good looking, in good condition, portable and the right size, not too big, not too small. For examples, check out Models Mart (http://www.models-mart.com/index.html). Models Mart has been in business for over 30 years and offers portfolios, mailing labels, modeling books, acting books and many other talent-related products.

Q. How do I get prints?
All your photos will be uploaded to an account at www.PicturePreview.com. The account will be under your name with a password of your choosing. There you can order prints, enlargements and reprints at excellent prices: 4x6 - 25 cents; 5x7 - $1; 8x10, $1.99. For large quantities, call them for special pricing and discounts. You can also print from the images you will receive on the CD that I provide.

Q. Where should I go with my pictures?
